WELCOME TO THE BUILDING INDUSTRY FEDERATION (BIF) OF NEW ZEALAND
We represent the supply chain of the building industry, providing meaningful responses to government on important policy issues that affect the construction sector. We are involved in advocacy to government, including promotion of standards development, engagement on key research issues, reviews of timber treatment and the resolution of issues arising from the Building Act of 2004. We also take an active interest in economic issues impacting on the industry including interest rates and immigration policy - key issues driving building demand.
CreditWorks can make the building and construction industry a safer place to trade. It provides information about industry customers’ credit position to ensure that responsible operators are not disadvantaged. BIF members receive a substantial discount from CreditWorks for use of the CRISworks system. For more information see CreditWorks under “What
We Do”.
BIF was formed in 2001 to effectively represent to government the interests of major industry participants including merchants, importers, distributors, manufacturers wholesalers, marketers and related service providers.
